History

Established in the last century, "DRUG OPERA" blends perfectly into the historical heart of "Vieux Bruxelles".
Comfortably set on a street corner in the city centre, the DRUG OPERA has a number of celebrated neighbours : the Théâtre de la Monnaie, the Bourse (Stock Exchange building) and of course, the Grand Place (central market square) of Brussels.
A few years ago, archeological research revealed several Gallo-Roman finds which the "CAVES DU DRUG OPERA" (Drug Opera cellars) have been inspired on.
Among other things, inside our cellars an ancient vault cellar can be seen which has been beautifully restored and which dates back to the early twentieth century.

Restaurant

From the Tavern, a staircase lead up to our restaurant on the first floor.

Located on the first floor in a stylish and friendly setting, the restaurant is the perfect place for a gourmet stopover. Here is where Chef proposes a refined card of French and Belgian cuisine. It goes without saying that the nation’s specialities figure prominently : tomatoes stuffed with prawns, ‘moules et frites’ (mussels and fries), Flemish beef stew, waterzooi (chicken or fish casserole), chicons au gratin (Belgian endives au gratin)…

Available for lunch or evening parties, our magnificent Banquet Room comfortably sits up to 200 guests right in the historical heart of Brussels ! Offering classy silver service and impeccable cuisine. Ideally suited for festive company occasions and parties visiting the capital of Europe.

Tavern

On the ground floor, the Tavern has been designed in true ‘English pub’ style.

Open from twelve noon till 2 am (Fridays and Saturdays until 3 am), the Tavern offers traditional pub cuisine for lunch and dinner. At every hour of the day however, you will find strollers, businessmen, artists from the Opera meet here over one of the many different beers on the beerlist, over a coffee or … over a mouth-watering plate of ‘crêpes’ (pancakes) or ‘gaufres de Bruxelles’ (Brussels waffles).

Grill

Quality menu card and original wine cellar in a relaxed atmosphere.

The Grill welcomes guests in a number of vast cellars which have been designed and dressed in style. A known fact, Belgians are great meat lovers insisting on nothing but the best quality : here is where you can sample truly superb grilled meat dishes in generous portions. And the great thing is you can select your own bottle from the Grill’s very own wine cellar !
